The current fibre broadband delivery in the region as part of the Connecting Devon and Somerset programme is in the vanguard of the Government’s ambitions to build a Gigabit capable network across the UK.
The three year rollout will deliver access to full fibre broadband to more than 56,000 homes and businesses in earmarked areas of Devon, Somerset, North Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset.

The CDS rollout so far

To date, CDS has delivered superfast access to over 315,000 homes and businesses in our region. That’s more than any other broadband programme in England.

Project Gigabit

The government has announced that more than 159,000 premises in the Connecting Devon and Somerset region are due to be included in the Project Gigabit rollout as part of a £200million-plus investment scheduled from 2024.

National Parks

Fixed wireless networks have already successfully provided broadband coverage in Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks.

Airband installed its transmission point infrastructure to connect some of the most rural communities in the region via a fixed wireless network. More than 7,000 Fixed Wireless Access connections are live across the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor.
