Jez Allman, CCO Wessex Internet receiving award from Connected Britain

Wessex Internet has won the Full Fibre Innovation Award at the prestigious Connected Britain 2022 event in London.

The annual Connected Britain Awards recognise the most significant and innovative organisations, solutions, and programmes that are shaping Britain’s digital future. Competition was strong this year with over 80 organisations from across the UK making the shortlist of 13 award categories.

Wessex Internet scooped the Full Fibre Innovation Award for achieving a marked presence in a competitive market – with a focus on local/regional marketing innovation and empowering and educating people to make an informed full fibre choice.

In its award submission, Wessex Internet demonstrated its community led approach, engagement with villages to bring connectivity via Government voucher schemes and its hyperlocal marketing, brand awareness and media activity.

Hector Gibson Fleming, CEO of Wessex Internet, said: “It is an honour to be recognised for innovation in a very competitive market by the highly regarded Connected Britain Awards. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the great team for all their hard work and commitment.”

The award is the fourth for Wessex Internet during the past year. In June, it won “Best Rural Fibre Provider” and “Rollout Challenge Buster” in the UK Fibre Awards 2022 and “Best Rural Hard to Reach Project” in the INCA Gold Awards in November 2021.
